It's common for puppies to get sick when close to so many other puppies from around the U.S. in a small space. This store treats their puppies well. They are bathed, they get all their pets up to date on their shots, are groomed properly, are fed properly, and get proper exercise. Puppies sleep 80% of the day so that is why many times they are asleep in their glass rooms. I bought a puggle pup from there and she's great, got her for a great price too. She had a slight cough from day 1, and I was hoping the condition would improve. Sadly her condition worsened after a few days so I took her in to the vet. I was told she needed some medication for a common 'kennel cough' - basically the puppy cold. The store paid 100% of the bill. It was a large bill too, and on my own I would not have paid it myself. The store pulled through and covered it all. I have no regrets buying from Family Pet Center and hope they stay in business! By the way, reading some of the other reviews- I would also charge people $10 if the same people come in every day wanting to see different puppies. If people have no intention on buying a pet, and are here to only play with puppies for their own amusement then they should be charged a fee. I saw my puggle pup and was not charged a fee, likely because they knew I was looking to buy and not looking to just play with a puppy for 20 minutes with no intention on a purchase. **UPDATE** 6 months after purchasing my puppy, she is healthy and full of life. No unexpected defects or anything wrong with her. Very glad I got her from here!

I wish I knew her name but, the lady at the store kept her cool under pressure. Holiday Friday. Only employee. Patient and sweet. Came in to look the first time. After multiple calls we came in again. We are now proud owners of a new pup!! Never been here before. Won’t be back (because our family is full). Highly recommended!!

Great place to get a puppy. Its clean. The service was really good. The ladies working were very helpful. We adore our new family member Odin.

Expensive! However I have a new family member that will give us years of Joy, Love & Happiness. Perfect breed I was looking for! I'm a fan of rescues, however , I did rescue this baby! As I think of it, it's not expensive compared to the breed I wanted.

I recently bought a puppy from here and I am in love! 🥰 What appalled me though was when I was looking around waiting for the puppy to be finished getting the puppy collar off, I saw this. It looked like someone sprayed some kind of cheese all over this poor parakeet! Whoever did this should be ashamed of themself!!!!! SHAME SHAME SHAME. Worker got all cheese off the parakeet and moved to a clean enclosure, but still, the gall of some people to do this to an animal

We purchased our 2nd dog from Family Pet on Wednesday December 30 2025. Our first dog we bought from Scott 16yrs ago and we lost her this past July. So after a period of time and emptiness we decided to get another dog. We knew that Family Pet and Scott was still open. That brought alot of memories and relief that Scott was still there because we knew he have the right variety of dogs to chose from and guide us all the way in the process. He put us in "the box" the same way he did 16 years earlier and put the dogs that he knew they would be the dogs that we would want. We got the dog that would be perfect for us now after our loss and the transition was so much happier than we thought it would be. It was great to be able to still be able to work with the best yes 50 years and still counting. So Cooper thanks you Scott and we do again. Keep going until we see u again!! Gary&Keri Allard

The 2 young ladies that work here are so amazingly sweet. they explained everything in detail answered all of our fur baby questions. recommended some great products for our pets they have all breeds some cuties.

We came in looking for a Golden Retriever or a Goldendoodle and they just got 2 males and 2 females in of each. We played with all of them and the female Golden Retriever seemed to interact with us more and more willing to play. The kids loved her, the wife loved her, so... I loved her as well! We worked with Dillon during the transaction, the puppies just came in so they had to be cleared by the vet first so we had to wait until the next day to pick her up. We paid the deposit and he called the next day when she was ready. Dillon was an excellent employee and made a great impression. He left us alone with the puppies and would check on us randomly and would answer any questions he had. If you go in I would recommend asking for Dillon to help you as you know you will get quality service and he is a no BS kind of guy. You HAVE to take your new pup to their veterinarian to be covered under their in-store warranties at Bay Beach Veterinarian, so we did and it turns out we will be keeping them as our Vet! They are very attentive and friendly. Overall this has been a great experience and I would go back to Dillion any day when we look to expand our pack!

Wednesday 11/6/24 I went in just looking for a dog, not expecting to get one that day. I had everything ready for getting a puppy but I did not think I would get my heart stolen so early. I called ahead to see what dogs they had and Asia listed all of them. I was in the VA beach area and by the time I got there it was close to closing. Asia ended up letting me see the Corgi they had and I fell in love. Asia stayed late to make sure I can take my sweet girl home with me. Asia was absolutely amazing and super kind! She did not have to stay late and I kept apologizing but she said she would rather see this sweet girl go home. My little Rosie came home with me that night and the following day I was able to get her into the vet. She is in perfect condition and I couldn’t have found a better mommy’s girl than my little Rosie. And I owe it all to Asia.
